Pasted to the wall
Beyond Street Media is a wheatpasting company: we print wheatpaste posters in house and hand-install them on permitted walls in 40 US metros and Canada, with a GPS-stamped photo of every placement. Wheatpaste is a large printed paper poster bonded to a wall with a water-based starch adhesive, so it sits flat against the brick or concrete with no frame and no gap. The paper takes the texture of the surface underneath and reads as part of the building. A campaign puts your artwork on a permitted wall, holds it through normal weather, and comes off clean when it ends.
- Full-bleed sheets
Large-format posters printed edge-to-edge, pasted flat to the wall so the creative reads as part of the street, not a frame hung on it.
- Wheat-starch paste
Brushed on behind and over each sheet, then smoothed by hand. The matte finish is the signature of the format and holds through weather.
- The repetition grid
The same design pasted in rows multiplies presence. One poster is a notice; a wall of them is a statement passersby cross the street to read.
Who it's for.
- You want one statement wall in a high-traffic corridor, done right, instead of a multi-wall saturation buy.
- You need the install to look native to the street so your own social channels reshare it, not like a banner bolted to a facade.
- You are working with a property owner, developer, or construction site and need written consent on file before anything goes up.
- You want documented proof of placement and a surface that returns to how it was after the campaign.
Why it works.
- Flat against brick
A pasted sheet sits flat with zero gap. A vinyl banner stands off the wall on hardware, where it catches light and wind.
- Reads as the street
The paper conforms to the wall texture, so the piece photographs like the neighborhood it lives in rather than a sign bolted on.
- Cures overnight
A top coat of paste soaks through the paper, pulls the sheet flat as it dries, and reaches full cure by the next morning.
- Comes off clean
The adhesive is water-based, so a sponge or low-pressure wash lifts the paper with no solvent, scraping, or anchor holes.

How it's made.
Two-coat paste
The crew rolls paste onto the wall, lays the printed sheet into it, then rolls a second coat over the face of the paper. That top coat soaks through the fiber and locks the poster down edge to edge as it dries.
Panel seams lapped wet
Large artwork prints in panels, and the crew laps the seams while the paste is still wet. A 10-foot wall reads as one continuous image with no visible breaks.
Surface decides everything
Wheatpaste grips porous, slightly rough surfaces best: brick, raw concrete, stucco, plywood hoarding, painted block. Glossy or peeling walls get prepped or skipped.
Print and install in-house
The print spec is matched to the surface because the crew that pastes the wall is the crew that proofs it. Print-only shops hand that gap off to someone else.
Optional clear topcoat
For longer windows, a clear topcoat over the cured face slows UV fade and sheds water, which extends a sheet's clean life on an exposed wall.
GPS-tagged documentation
Three photos at every wall (wide, mid, and detail) show the placement in context, the full piece, and the paper laid tight against the texture. Daily logs go out while the campaign is live, with a final wrap deck at close.

Frequently asked.
Q · 01 What is wheatpaste advertising?
It is a guerrilla format where a large paper poster is adhered to a wall with a water-based starch paste. The sheet bonds to brick, concrete, plywood, or scaffold board as a single skin with no frame, taking the texture of the surface so it reads as part of the building.
Q · 02 Is wheatpaste advertising legal?
Yes, when the surface is permitted. Every wall BSM pastes is private property, a GC-authorized construction hoarding, or a BID-cleared corridor, with written owner consent in the file before any paste lands. We do not post on utility poles, traffic signs, or transit property, which is why we have zero municipal removals on record across 500-plus documented installs.
Q · 03 How long does a wheatpaste sheet last?
It depends on the surface and exposure. Storefront and street-level walls weather naturally over several weeks of sun and rain, which most brands want. Construction hoardings and scaffold board hold roughly 8 to 12 weeks of uninterrupted visibility, and a refresh run can go back over the same wall to stretch a window.
Q · 04 How does it compare to a vinyl banner?
Vinyl needs grommets, a frame, or a tension rig, so it always sits off the wall catching light and wind. Wheatpaste glues flat with nothing to catch the wind, leaves no holes in the facade, and photographs like the neighborhood rather than a sign bolted on.
Q · 05 How does removal work?
The same water that activates the paste dissolves it. A wet sponge or low-pressure wash softens the adhesive and the paper lifts off, leaving the surface as it was, with no solvent, scraping, anchor holes, or leftover hardware.
Q · 06 What does a campaign cost and how fast can it go up?
Wheatpaste campaigns start at $3,500, with the full rate card on the pricing page. Standard turnaround is 5 to 7 business days from approved artwork to first install.
