The poster people pocket
A takeaway poster is a printed street poster installed with real product samples attached, in tear-off strips or mounted packs, that passersby can take with them. The poster does the brand work of a paste-up; the samples turn a glance into a trial. We print the poster in-house, attach the product, install on consented private surfaces, and photograph every placement. On the Momentm campaign in New York, four takeaway posters carried 40 supplement stick packs, and the strips emptied on camera.
- Full-size poster
A 48x36 print carries the brand at paste-up scale and reads from across the street.
- Tear-off sample strip
Real product mounts at hand height. Passersby pull a sample and walk off holding the brand.
- Depletion re-shoots
Each placement is photographed on install and again as the strip empties. An emptying strip is a physical redemption count.
- You sell something small enough to hand over on the street: supplements, snacks, beauty minis, stickers, samples, cards with codes.
- You are launching and need trial, not just impressions. A poster someone takes something from converts attention into product in a pocket.
- You are running an activation or pop-up and want the surrounding blocks working before people reach the door.
- You want a measurement street media rarely offers: photographing the strips as they empty is a physical redemption count.
- Taking beats looking
A poster is background until it offers something. The tear-off strip makes people stop, read, and interact with the wall, and everyone who takes a sample walks away holding the brand.
- The empty strip is data
We photograph placements on install and again as samples deplete. How fast a strip empties, and which location empties first, is trial data no impressions estimate can fake.
- The poster keeps working
When the samples run out, a full-size poster is still on the wall doing what posters do. The takeaway mechanic is a launch-window boost on top of standing street media, not a format that dies when the strip is bare.
- One crew, print to restock
We print the posters, attach the product, install, document, and restock on schedule. No sampling agency layered on a postering vendor; one accountable team.

How it's made.
Product check
We confirm the sample format travels: size, weight, weather tolerance, and how it mounts. Stick packs, sachets, minis and carded items all attach differently, and the attachment decides how clean the wall looks half-taken.
Design for the take
You supply the creative; we spec the layout so the tear-off strip or sample field sits at hand height and the poster still reads as designed after every sample is gone.
Site for slow feet
Takeaway posters go where people walk slowly and stop: retail blocks, cafe strips, venue approaches. Fast corridors get the big paste-up sets; the takeaways get dwell.
Install and restock
Hand-installed on consented private surfaces with the samples mounted on site. Restock passes are scheduled into the campaign, not sold as an afterthought.
Photo proof, twice
Every placement is photographed on install and re-shot as strips deplete, with coordinates logged. The wrap deck shows what went up and what got taken.

Frequently asked.
Q · 01 What is a takeaway poster?
A street poster installed with real product samples attached that passersby can take, in tear-off strips or mounted packs. The poster carries the brand at full scale; the samples convert attention into trial. We print in-house, attach the product, install on consented private surfaces, and photograph every placement.
Q · 02 What is take-one advertising?
Take-one advertising is the family of street formats built around something a passerby can physically take: sample boxes, carded flyers, and tear-off strips. Takeaway posters are our version of it. A full-size poster does the brand work at paste-up scale, real product mounts in a tear-off strip at hand height, and we photograph the strip as it empties for a physical redemption record. Printing, installation, and documentation run under one roof.
Q · 03 What products work as takeaways?
Anything pocket-sized and weather-tolerant: supplement stick packs, snack samples, beauty sachets and minis, stickers, and cards carrying codes or offers. On the Momentm campaign the posters carried 40 supplement stick packs across four placements. If the sample cannot live outdoors, a carded code version usually can.
Q · 04 How much does a takeaway poster campaign cost?
Campaigns open at $3,500 with printing, installation, and photo documentation included; the product samples come from you. Placement count, sample volume, and restock cadence move the final number, and a scoped quote returns in 24 to 48 hours.
Q · 05 Is it legal to put posters with samples on the street?
On consented private surfaces, yes, and that is the only place we install. The permission rule is identical to any poster campaign: a private wall plus the owner's written sign-off, which we secure before install. Public infrastructure stays off every route.
Q · 06 What happens when all the samples are taken?
The poster keeps working. A takeaway poster is a full designed poster first, so once the strip empties it functions as standing street media for the rest of the run. Restock passes are scheduled if the campaign calls for them, and the depletion photos become part of your wrap deck.
Q · 07 How do you measure a takeaway campaign?
Placement by placement. Every install is photographed with coordinates, then re-photographed as samples deplete. How fast each location empties is a physical trial metric, closer to a redemption count than anything an impressions model produces.
From $3,500. 5-7 days, brief to first placement.
Printing and installation both included. Most shops do one or the other. Every placement is documented with a GPS-stamped photo the day it goes up.
