· 01 · The brief

Convergence read on every SoMa wall.

A corporate event needs a brand moment that lives inside the space the audience occupies. Stripe Convergence brought the developer and partner audience into Stripe's San Francisco headquarters. The event identity had to live in the physical space from the moment attendees entered. Two wheatpaste walls in the lounge and dining areas transformed the open-plan HQ into an event venue without breaking the existing aesthetic.

The audience is captive. The surfaces are interior. The timeline is tight (event-window only). The install needs to integrate with the venue's existing design without fighting it. Stripe's HQ aesthetic is concrete floors, pendant lights, neutral palette, warm wood furniture. The Convergence event branding (purple ground, rainbow-stripe gradient typography reading "CONVERGENCE" in repeating tile arrangement) needed to live in that space.

Interior activation is the opposite of disruption. It's addition. The wrap has to read as "we did this on purpose" rather than "marketing got bolted onto the office." Color selection and surface application determine whether the install feels intentional or intrusive.

· 02 · Where we ran it

Stripe's headquarters at 510 Townsend Street, San Francisco.

Two interior walls in the lounge and dining floors of the open-plan HQ layout. The two wall geometries required individual measurement and sizing. A full-height wall carries different grid patterns than a half-height structural surface. The install team surveyed both walls, mapped their dimensions, and created custom panel sizing for each.

Pre-event site coordination with Stripe's events and facilities teams locked access, confirmed off-hours work windows, and verified adhesive compatibility with the wall surface finishes. Corporate interior installs require building-management alignment. Street media requires property-owner consent. Corporate interior requires venue management sign-off plus facilities engineering confirmation.

· 03 · What we ran

The service: Interior Installs.

Large-format printed poster panels in a grid pattern, custom-sized to each wall's measurements. Low-tack interior-safe adhesive formulation. Creative system: purple ground with rainbow-stripe orange, coral, and cream typographic blocks reading "CONVERGENCE" in a repeating tile arrangement, scaled to wall width. Six to nine panel grids per full-height wall. Color consistency across all panels. No underlays, no additional stickers, no event signage clutter.

The adhesive matters for corporate interiors. Standard wheatpaste (wheat-based exterior formula) can stain wall surfaces and leave adhesive residue when removed. Interior-safe removable adhesive cures tight, holds through the event, and removes cleanly without wall damage or ghosting. A wrap that comes off in one piece, leaving no trace, is a wrap that didn't require building repairs.

· 04 · How it played

Install completed in a 3-day pre-event window.

Crew worked outside business hours (early morning and after-hours) to avoid disruption to Stripe's normal HQ operations. Brooks Running's crew handled the install. Day 1: site walk-through, wall measurement, panel fabrication preparation. Day 2: full-day install across both walls. Each wall required individual measuring, custom panel fitting, adhesive application, and photo documentation. Interior wheatpaste is not a one-size template. The geometry varies. The surface finish varies. The panel layout requires real-time adjustment.

Day 3: sections with lighter initial coverage received reinforcement paste application. Full daylight + ambient photography captured both walls from multiple angles. Walls integrated into the actual space context (leather chairs, dining seating, Stripe-branded monitors, pendant lighting) provided proof that the wrap read as environmental design rather than applied decoration.

Install ran in parallel coordination with Stripe's event production timeline. Wrap installation completed 18 hours before event doors opened. Full cure confirmed by event morning. No adhesion failures. No panel lift. No damage to wall surfaces.

· 05 · Proof

Two wheatpaste walls documented.

Each wall photographed from multiple angles showing the wrap grid in place, surrounding context, and integration with the venue environment. Daylight and ambient photography captured the work in the actual event-day lighting conditions. GPS tagged (Stripe HQ at 37.7706°N, 122.4039°W). Install timestamps logged. Crew member IDs recorded. Photo documentation shows each wall with Stripe branding visible in the background, confirming the venue context.

The adhesive formulation was photo-documented during application (showing proper coverage and depth) and post-cure to confirm full adhesion and no surface damage. Interior installs require proof of reversibility. The wall surfaces remained undamaged after removal post-event. Photo comparison (before install, during install, after removal) confirmed zero residue or ghosting.

· 06 · Notes

Corporate interior activation is its own discipline.

The surface is more controlled than street media, but the integration bar is higher. The wrap had to read as "we did this on purpose" rather than "we hired someone to paste things to the office." Adhesive selection mattered. Color harmony with the existing HQ palette mattered. Installation timing around business operations mattered. Crew training on interior surface care mattered.

The event branding system itself (purple ground, rainbow-stripe gradient) mirrors tech-industry event language. It reads as contemporary, energetic, and forward-facing. The tiles repeat across both wall faces, creating visual frequency without saturation. The same creative repeated across both walls reads as intentional design system, not wallpaper.

Stripe later reported that internal feedback on the activation focused on the environmental integration. Employees didn't experience the wraps as intrusive corporate branding. They experienced the HQ as event-transformed. The physical environment did the communication work. That's the goal of interior activation.
