A message that only works where people already walk.
The Talk to Strangers campaign carries a single idea: the first hello is the hard one, and it is worth saying anyway. That lands where people are already on foot, already near each other, already deciding whether to make eye contact. A highway billboard passed at sixty miles an hour has nowhere to put it. So the run was built around footfall rather than traffic counts. 236 placements across Denver's west metro, all installed and photographed in July 2026.
The choice was deliberate. These are the places with walkable main streets, trailheads, transit stops and small downtown cores, and they are chronically under-served by outdoor media that concentrates downtown.
The corridors carried the weight. Kipling Street, Wadsworth Boulevard, Teller Street through Belmar, Bowles Avenue, and Bergen Parkway up in the foothills. Placements clustered where people stand still: crosswalk signals, transit shelters, storefront approaches, the sidewalk outside a restaurant where a queue forms.
Two formats, chosen because they occupy different moments.
Pole stickers carried the bulk of the run. Vertical panels on light poles, signal poles and sign posts, set at eye level at the exact spot where someone waits for a walk signal. That wait is a few seconds of nothing, which is the whole opportunity. Lines rotated between "Start small. Just say hello.", "One hello can change your whole day.", and "The hardest hello is the first one. Say it anyway."
Sidewalk decals worked the other axis. Ground-level panels on pedestrian paths and crosswalk approaches, read while walking rather than while waiting, including a plain "TALK TO STRANGERS" set into the pavement at corner crossings.
Running both meant the message reached the same person twice in different postures, without either format having to carry the whole campaign.
How it was documented.
That matters more for a campaign like this than for a brand launch. There is no product page to check attribution against, so the proof of delivery has to be the record itself. The map on this page shows a representative selection across all six municipalities; the full log runs to 236.
Substrate choice was set by altitude and sun.
Denver's UV load at elevation is punishing on adhesive and ink, and the foothills placements around Evergreen and Morrison sit higher still, so material was specced for the exposure rather than for the lowest cost per unit.
Placements went in across daylight and evening, which is why the field photography runs from full sun to street-lit. The evening shots are the honest ones for this campaign: they show the sticker doing its job under a signal at dusk, which is when a lot of the reading happens.

Where the stencils landed.
Eleven stencils across ten placements on the 9th and 10th Avenue corridor in Hell's Kitchen - one corner ran a matched pair. Every coordinate is pulled straight from the install documentation, address by address.
